What is this place, so dreadful to its discoverers? For Death Valley was not so named without reason. What then, do you expect of the driest, the lowest, the most forsaken land on this half of the earth?
In 4th grade, the teacher pointed to the map and said, “Here is the Mojave Desert.” A splotch of brown. An endless stretch of sand. But surely—surely not life, nor beauty, nor calm? Ahh, all these, and more. Twas beautiful. And then, not too far away…Field of White, Field of Pain.

Wow, that picture seems really peaceful. Anyways, how does it help you by believing in God? I don’t understand. You said your life’s problems haven’t been improved..so how has your life become better? How has having faith in God help you ? How do you know he is real? How can you belive in all of this? From the stories that are told?
I’m curious because I feel so naive about religion and it interests me on why so many people believe in God and it’s hard for me to understand why. I read about why but it still doesn’t make sense. I need more reasons that could make me understand why. Anyways, I’m basically going in circles asking you those questions so sorry. Well, I guess I’ll leave it at that. Have a happy new year.
