  • Suit up, folks

There really needs to be some music in this clean room…I
have the stupid “Lean Back” song stuck in my head. Unfortunately, I
    only know two words. Yup.

    Lean back
    Lean back
    Lean back
    Lean back

    Lol..
aite back to work homies. I need to … no wait, I’m not supposed to
tell you what we’re doing here in the lab. They might dispatch some
undercover ninjas after you if I do.

I guess this is what it feels like to be a superhero.

Right pic by Ben T. Background I took from various
Marvel, DC, and Crossgen graphic novels,
    along with a couple manga.
    Postproccesing, whatever, by me.

Pay attention! That war going on where?!

Yea, surprise, we’re still at war guys.

On the way back from work, I was listening to a pretty one-sided talk show about when we should pull our troops out of Iraq. Basically, there are two general exit strategies:

    1)  Complete pull-out now: cut our losses; get out of the “quagmire” and have the Iraqis take care of themselves.

    2)   Stay the course: establishing democracy was never easy; leave the job undone and you are asking for a civil war.

    What
do you guys think? (Or do you frankly not care because somehow, you
don’t see how this—or world news, or politics, or anything else—has any
    relevance to your life?)

  • lean back…threw the rock away. (remix yo).  hope work is going well for you bro,

  • “lean back” u know what that song refers to? i hope u do cuz its not a good thing hhaha…

  • hahahaha its funny that you only know those 2 words!!

  • hah i suppose you’re right.
but what hope does that give us as we get older?
i love the last macro below.

  • Get back to work, bum!

  • oh my gaw….i’m beginning to see a pattern….work = xanga hahaha not much different from the schooling days eh?

  • your pictures are really good

  • I don’t understand why we would pull out. The head of states of most arab countries are dictatorships and don’t like the US. Most of their citizens are poor and uneducated. Extreme Islam controls their lives. Woman don’t have the same rights as men.

It is true that “Oil” is part of the equation. Our past policies in Iran reflect this. However, during the 1970′s we saw how OPEC basically crippled nations and increased inflation dramatically. Our interest in oil does not stem from greed but for economic stability and safety. If people who want to see us pull out from the middle east completely, then they shall have to live with $10/gal gas.

America tried to establish democracy after ww2. We failed almost every campaign against communism. The only countries that faired well were Japan and Germany. Vietnam, Iran, Korea, and all those African countries were complete disasters.

Is this a Republican vs Democrat thing? I don’t think so. LBJ (Democrat) started the Vietnam war. Nixon (Republican) pulled us out. These kind of things aren’t polarized by party membership.

Things are complicated but I think the US needs to stay put for now. When the European states pulled out of Africa they left so many civil wars (just watch Hotel Rwanda). We don’t want that happening in Iraq. To leave would be irresponsible and we would continue to see opression of basic human rights there.

  • dang, last comment is like a novel…anyways, cool surf pics bro.  lean back!  dang it i want to go surfing…why do i live in norcal again?

  • psh, those are the only words you need to know.

eep! i’m gonna go bodyboarding soon, i’m so excited.

i say pull out simply because i have family over in iraq right now.

  • lol, it’s a picture of a Gundam. Good job, you know your anime. =] HAHA

  • Surfer heros .. interesting .. I bet you will see a comic book come out with that theme in the next 2 weeks.

  • uh uh look who’s talking!

  • You’re making me want to go surf.  And thats funny cuz I don’t know how.  :)

  • no prob…haha that surfing pic is awesome :] makes me wanna go to LA.

as for the war…it depends upon what you think is responsible, what you think is other peoples’ businesses, whether or not you’re a die-hard advocate of one political party or the other, what you believe (about God)…oh yea, did i mention it was a tad bit complicated?

I think too many people opt for the “pull out” or “stay in” options simply because they don’t want to affiliate themselves with the war in any way (even though our country’s actions, because we live in the US need to be our direct concern – that or I’d tell you to go live in [pick a dictatorship], where you aren’t responsible for the government’s actions because you don’t have a choice), a family member or someone you know (of) has died as a result of the war, etc.

my personal favorite: a person driving around their H2 with an anti-war in Iraq sticker on the back.

as for my decision…I’m definitely not well enough informed (about the war or about my own beliefs) to make any kind of decision (which is why I didn’t vote). but i suppose that could be construed as a childish response as well.

  • hey man, hope your summer is going well. just wanted to say “what’s up”. take care!

  • hahahha…lean back
that song was cool for a lil while…

why u and my friend keep talkn bout ninja’s?! o.o
    haha ima ninja!! raWr

    j/k

    take care..buhbyes

  • stay the course. if we pull out, all the sacrifices that have already been made will be for not.

  • hey, nice site. i especially like the iris photos, and the verse underneath has always been one of my favorites. have a great day!

  • stay the course. if we pull out, it’ll be worse because all those sacrifices will be worthless.

  • just wondering – does being good at snowboarding help for learning to surf? not that i’m going to learn – i cannot even swim – but just curious :P

also in reply to ur question – haha. i’ll post what i do to my pics next time – but i’ll say this – i photoshop every one of them. there’s always post-processing to be done to improve the photo – but i do it in such a way that you can’t really tell.. haha evil eh? =P

  • opps forgot to tell you: i normally just do custom curve.. just to get the darkness right.. and then I bump up contrast +10, saturation +10. select a frame i like and crop (this is the most important part, i believe cropping does wonders to a photograph). and add a simple border. =)

  • re : i didnt print them –” just took em down to the local photo shop …. thanks for the positive feedback!

  • thats you on the right side picture? (that looks good)

yeah its been a while since my last visit on ur site, how u been :)

  • hah maybe it’ll never go away.
but technically.. i have a tattoo.

i heard about the bombing.  horrifying.
it just feels like when you look at that situation and look at how long our troops have been in iraq.. it all seems to be a mess of confusion.
people who are trying to help are mistaken, people who are intending to protect are hurting helpers.. all just misunderstood.

  • i don’t even really know where to begin to try to understand the war. so i’ll leave u with this comment:

    nice pic

  • i don’t think war is the answer. but that doesn’t mean i think we should just leave them be on their own. i htink you would make a good ninja

  • come save me!! there’s no locatable mexican food out here!!!
